bankrupt

it was yesterday
when i realized
that i had all the
pennies and
mountains
for missing
you
and wanting
to kiss you
they were some
nice pennies
and mountains.
but it was nothing
without you to
enjoy it
with me

if you
could ever
know how much
i love you
how i would
never try
to be
selfish
to be distant
to leave you
with some
great task
as i take a
field day
if i had looked
at it through
your eyes
i suppose
i'd feel your
feelings.
